Little Man Tate - “Sexy In Latin”
Lively guitar pop. LMT are often likened to The Arctic Monkeys because of the broad Sheffield accents. ‘Sexy In Latin’ has a brilliantly catchy chorus. Lovely to dance to. The lyrics describe a guy who has been best friends with this girl since they were little but the relationship never went any further, despite the guy wanting it to. The lead vocalist sings, “You must have known that I want, don’t you?” It touches me. James will know this song as one of my mysterious ‘ morning leaving songs’. It’s a shame the Arctic Monkeys reference will “put ‘im reight off”.
